While glass fiber has been around since 1863 it is a relatively new source of pen turning material. The barrel material is blue glass fiber incased in clear acrylic. The acrylic not only protects very thin glass fibers it also protects against enviromental light discoloration and fogging.

The pen refills are an upgrade refill from Schmidt Technology. These refills are tipped with stainless steel and are designed to resist ink hardening. Schmidt, arguably the worlds best ink refill manufacture.
